This afternoon Norwich Bulletin reporter James Mosher asked Attorney General Richard Blumenthal if he was willing to debate me again. Mr. Blumenthal's answer: "As you can see, I'm focused on my job as attorney general." Press flak Maura Downes added "We'd like to wait until after the convention."
So Connecticut's Coakley in pants won't debate me again. It was a foolish thing for him to say, but perhaps the lesser of evils - remember that during The Hartford Courant/Fox61 debate he said that his lawsuits against Connecticut businesses create jobs. He can say foolish things to a Norwich Bulletin reporter or to a television audience.
Look, I know it is my fault. If I hadn't roughed him up so much in the first debate, he would have agreed to a second. Still, does anyone really think that someone running for state wide office can duck their opponent and engage in a rose garden strategy? If Mr. Blumenthal can't take on a fellow Democrat who is far behind him in the polls, how is he going to stop Linda McMahon and the Republicans?
